WARNING – Please be advised that the following video contains profane, inappropriate language.
While the Cadillac Police Department was conducting a routine traffic stop on October 21, 2018, an onlooker
recorded video and posted a partial video along with an inaccurate narrative about what they were witnessing
on social media with the tag “police brutality”. The video very quickly became “viral” and resulted in the
posting of several comments that were factually untrue in addition to rhetoric that went well beyond anti-
police by escalating into threats to kill police officers, children of Police Officers and further identifying police
family members and their places of employment. The Cadillac Police Department takes all threats seriously,
and where appropriate, is investigating the validity of those that were made in order to prosecute anyone
inciting violence, killings and making terroristic threats against our Officers and families.
The video that is posted below by the Cadillac Police Department is the entire video of the traffic stop. Audio
that captured information from the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) was removed; no other
edits were made. The Complaint Number for this incident is 18-002982.
Thank you,
Cadillac Police Department
